More about Finances
At Calvary Chapel we view giving as an act of worship. God loves a cheerful giver because this act exemplifies the condition of a surrendered heart.
2Cor 9:7 " So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver."
Further more, God teaches obedience in trusting Him, things done in secret, unto Him, will be rewarded in the open.*
Any church needs finances to function, however, we at Calvary Chapel choose not to make finance the main thing and keeping it where it belongs, an act of Worship.
For this reason, we do not use a collection plate and seldom mention money in our services. Trusting worshippers who worship in Spirit and Truth to keep what is secret between the worshipper and God, so that they with the church, may reap rewards openly.
There is an offering box available at the back of the church on Sundays for the convenience of those who prefer cash offerings.
In a similar way, the church board is trusted to handle such finance with Godly Stewardship. This too is an act of worship where transparency is key. Financial records therefor, are periodically made availabe for active church members to view on request.
* Mat 6:3-4 - "But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, "that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly."
